How to get to

Travel to Gdynia by plane:

The Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport (https://www.airport.gdansk.pl) (IATA:GDN) is the third largest airport in Poland and it is located in approx. 20 km distance from our conference venue in Gdynia.

There are number of travel options from the airport to your final destination, mostly depending on time of your arrival:

  • bus lines to Gdansk city/Sopot city,
  • local trains to Gdansk or Gdynia leaving from platforms located just at the front of the terminal,
  • taxi.

The easiest way is to take a taxi. A taxi lot is located at the front of the of the terminal. The best option is to take taxi waiting at the taxi lot. The price to the Gdynia city center should not exceed 30 EUR depending on day/night fare. Please, remember that we still have our own currency (Polish Złoty, 1EUR~4.7PLN). ATMs are located inside the terminal. Most of taxi drivers are accepting credit cards but it is better to ask in advance.

Please check the Gdansk Airport website where you can find information on various modes of transport:

https://www.airport.gdansk.pl/passenger-area/transportation/train-p98.html

Travel to Gdynia by train:

If it is easier for you to fly to Warsaw airport you may choose to continue to Gdynia by train. There is a train passenger portal in English (with timetable, possibility of buying tickets), but please note that you should type the names of stations in Polish (e.g. departure from Warszawa Centralna, arrival at Gdynia Główna)

Where to stay:

Three cities: Gdansk, Gdynia, and Sopot are closely located (we call them Tricity),

thus you may choose to find a hotel, hostel, or apartment in any of those cities. Please, check available options using e.g. Booking.com for any of those cities. The best way to commute between Gdansk, Sopot, and Gdynia is using the local train (SKM) (https://www.skm.pkp.pl/). It will take approx. 30 minutes to get you from the Main Station in Gdansk (in Polish Gdańsk Główny) to Gdynia Hill of St. Maximilian (in Polish Gdynia Wzgórze św. Maksymiliana).

You can check the timetable via the following websites:

https://www.skm.pkp.pl/

https://skm.trojmiasto.pl/

https://jakdojade.pl/trojmiasto/trasa/

The above websites are in Polish only – you need to type the names of stations in Polish (e.g. Gdańsk Główny, Gdynia Główna).
